A. Marina Aguilar, M.A., MFT
I am a licensed psychotherapist with over 30 years experience in counseling and psychotherapy, certified in Life Coaching (C.T.I., San Rafael, CA.) and trained in Spiritual Direction (The Chaplaincy Institute, Berkeley, CA). I am also ordained in interfaith ministry and have experience designing and officiating "rites of passage" ritual and ceremonies.
Having lived in both Europe and the United States, I am familiar and comfortable with diverse cultures, socioeconomic conditions, as well as spiritual modalities and gender preferences. The foundation of my work is influenced by Carl Jung and the neo-Jungians, especially Marion Woodman, James Hollis and Thomas Moore, as well as the Spiritual Psychologies of Rudolf Steiner and Robert Sardello.
If appropriate, I'm able to work with faith and interfaith issues and practice. I have had a lifelong interest in studying the mystical paths of the Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, Taoist and Wiccan/Shamanic traditions. Humanism, too, can be experienced as a spiritual path. A significant part of my work is assisting others in finding authenticity and greater meaning, in whatever way best fits an individual life's journey.
